Founded in 2013 as the solo project of David „Arkas,“ Arkuum made its debut with Trostlos on August 21, 2015. Released as a limited run of 150 hand-numbered copies, the album quickly sold out, gaining recognition in the underground scene. Denny (Zeugen der Leere) contributed his haunting vocals, enhancing Trostlos’s melancholic intensity. Initially started as a studio project, the ambition to bring the experience live on stage quickly grew. 

In 2016, David was looking for musicians to bring Arkuum to the stage. Even though the full lineup has become an integral part of Arkuum, David remains the creative mind and songwriter who continues to set the direction of the project. 

Following the success of Trostlos, Arkuum released its second album, Die letzte Agonie, on August 4, 2018. Recorded in Andreas Rosczyk’s (Ultha) studio, this album builds upon the band’s signature dark atmospheres, delivering massive guitar walls layered with reverb and delay, immersing listeners in a raw and haunting soundscape.

After a long six years, Arkuum return back to the studio, this time to the Night Side Audio Studios of Florian Dammasch (Eis). The third album Hier ist kein Licht promises to be their heaviest, most melancholic and most varied record to date.
